A trip to Jephson Gardens

Today we are celebrating ‘Walk in the Park Day’. idverde’s Marketing Assistant, Oskar, visited Jephson Gardens in Royal Leamington Spa to find out more about the park and the work idverde provides as part of the contract with Warwick District Council.

Jephson Gardens is one of the main parks and tourist attractions found in the city centre and provides a much-required open space that allows peace and tranquillity for the residents. Covering over 14 acres, the park has a variety of facilities including a café and The Glasshouse, which is home to a tropical garden and beehives.

The area was opened to the public in 1834 and was previously being used as farmland. Since then, Warwick District Council has been investing in creating the beautiful park that we see today.

The park is also the house of the Jephson Memorial, as well as the Czech Memorial Fountain which play a significant role in linking back to the park’s history and heritage.

The park provides picturesque views with bespoke soft landscaping created and maintained by idverde.

idverde also provides its grounds maintenance services across the grass and wooded areas, ensuring safety for visitors and tourists all year round.

Various areas of the park are looked after by the on-site gardener, who ensures the plants are well watered in the drought season and maintained to upkeep the welcoming visual aspect of the park.

New areas are being created to showcase a range of natural floral displays and additions are made to existing areas to boost the areas biodiversity.

The park also provides a great habitat for wildlife; birds and squirrels can be seen around the park, whilst the on-site pond adds a great environment for ducks and swans and other animals.

The trees and shrubbery found around Jephson Gardens are maintained to ensure that the different habitats are not affected by any arboriculture works.

We truly recommend visiting Jephson Gardens for a walk in the park, it’s the perfect place to surround yourself with nature and enjoy the scenic views.
