We are delighted to share that our colleagues, Barry Mott and Ian Patterson, recently attended the prestigious CAFRE Industry Support Programme Awards held at the Conference and Recreation Centre, Loughry Campus, Cookstown, on Wednesday, 26th February 2025. This event marked a significant milestone as it was the first time bursaries and scholarships were awarded to students across all four disciplines of CAFRE: Horticulture, Agriculture, Equine, and Food.
The CAFRE Director expressed heartfelt gratitude for the continued support provided by industry partners, including idverde, through bursaries, scholarships, and internships. This support is crucial in ensuring that CAFRE produces graduates who are not only employable but also ready to make meaningful contributions to the agri-food, horticulture, and equine industries.
We are proud to support talented students like Jeni Campbell, who graduated with a Distinction in the Foundation degree in Horticulture last year. Jeni received awards for Best Plant’s Person and Highest Marks in Science and Technology. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture and aims to continue her education through a research programme to achieve a Doctorate. The bursary awarded to Jeni will assist her in her research studies and travel, furthering her passion for nature, science, and sustainability.
We extend our sincere thanks to CAFRE for organising this event and for their dedication to nurturing the next generation of professionals in our industry. We look forward to continuing our support and collaboration in the years to come.
