idverde provides a wide range of green services, including grounds maintenance, landscape creation, and advice services, to both private and public sectors across the UK.
As an organisation, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in a successful long-term future for our company and for the sector. The industry is currently facing a skills gap shortage coupled with an ageing workforce. idverde is on a mission to support the development of young people and help reduce the skills gap across the UK.
We currently partner with local colleges and training providers across the country and have our own in-house Performance Academy. Our partners work very closely with us and ensure that our apprenticeships serve the future needs of idverde and work towards our aim of bridging the skills gap The end result of which is the delivery of a high-quality training programme for young people.
As part of our ongoing commitment to young people, we are proud to announce that idverde has recently partnered with The Young Person’s Guarantee. This is a commitment to connect every 16- to 24-year-old in Scotland to the opportunity of a job, placement, training or volunteering with employers that have signed up to the Guarantee.
Here at idverde, we have committed to the guarantee with the aim to help increase the number of apprenticeship opportunities and placement opportunities for young persons in Scotland over the next few years. We hope to attract more young people into the horticulture industry.
idverde is setting up apprenticeship opportunities in Scotland for 2022 and setting up a Pilot school work placement programme to support young people. We are also building closer relationships with schools and colleges in Scotland.
Laura Henderson, Employability Manager for our Northern region, commented: “We’re excited to be involved, young people are very much the future of the organisation, we want to grow our own talent through the business and help to develop young people’s careers through providing opportunities for them.”
