Warwick District Council and idverde are celebrating after receiving a Green Flag award for Jephson Gardens in Royal Leamington Spa.
This year’s award from ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ sees Jephson Gardens not only maintaining Green Flag status for a seventeenth consecutive year, but also gaining Green Heritage Site Accreditation in association with Historic England for the conservation of the historic features within the park.

idverde undertake a variety of outdoor services at Jephson Gardens including the care of the river bank and large lake. Upkeep of hedges, grass and planting beds. Planting beds include the new covid round bed.

How do you encourage biodiversity at Jephson Gardens?
Jephson Gardens is an environmentally friendly space that boasts a variety of sustainable planting schemes, seasonal plants, and herbaceous plants. The lake on site is well-maintained with reed bed management and meadow grasslands management. Additionally, the glasshouse adds to the beauty of the gardens.
Does your park have any interesting or unusual features?
Jephson Gardens is a beautiful and serene space that features a variety of attractions. The lake in the middle of the garden has a water feature/fountain. The indoor glasshouse is another must-see attraction that adds to the beauty of the gardens. Additionally, the garden has a Covid bed that serves as a memorial for people lost to the virus. The Dr Jephson memorial is another feature that adds to the historical significance of the gardens. The Czech fountain for remembrance is another must-see attraction and finally, the sensory garden is an excellent place to relax and unwind.
