Swift Response by idverde Teams Clears Trowbridge Road After Bin Lorry Fire

On Wednesday, March 26, a bin lorry fire on Prospect Place near Trowbridge Health Centre led to a swift and efficient response by local emergency services and idverde teams. The incident, which saw rubbish tipped onto the road to allow firefighters to tackle the blaze, was managed promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to the community.

Firefighters from Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon were quick to respond, extinguishing the fire by approximately 2:30 PM. Police temporarily closed the road to facilitate the emergency response, but there were no significant traffic delays reported.

In a commendable effort, idverde teams played a crucial role in the cleanup operation. Once the fire was under control, idverde staff, equipped with a tractor, efficiently cleared the spilled rubbish from the road. This rapid action significantly expedited the reopening of the road, preventing the need for manual handling of waste into bins.

Rachel Parkinson, Waste Collections and Business Support Manager at Wiltshire Council, expressed her gratitude saying: “I just wanted to pass on our thanks to the idverde team operating out of the Riverway depot who helped clear up after a vehicle fire in Trowbridge today.”

The collaborative efforts of the emergency services and idverde teams ensured the situation was handled efficiently, reflecting the community’s resilience and teamwork.
