Stonewater Housing
Stonewater is one of the UK’s most significant social housing providers, with 30,000 homes under management and £1.6 billion in assets. It also has a significant development programme to help address the rising demand for housing.
Stonewater covers three geographical areas across England, structured as follows:
- East and North, managing 8,400 homes
- South, managing, 13,400 homes
- West, managing, 8,200 homes
Stonewater provides additional support services to residents, such as financial assistance and free skills training. The sheltered and supported schemes help older or vulnerable people to live independently and it also offers Foyer and Women’s Refuge accommodation.

Maintenance Rounds
idverde is contracted to cut grass within Stonewater Housing’s properties on a performance basis, meaning that there is no set number of cuts each year but that the grass should always be kept short and well-presented throughout the mowing season. Fluctuating weather conditions can change the way we need to approach the grass cutting cycle, but on average, we will complete each cycle within 10 to 12 working days between March and October.
Stonewater shrub beds are also maintained on a performance specification throughout the year. Between April and October we will carry out summer works such as weeding and pruning as required for health and safety reasons (such as overhanging vegetation). From November to March we carry out the more extensive winter pruning works.
Hedges are cut on a frequency basis throughout the year, with the heavier reduction works carried out in the winter months between November and March, and the health and safety pruning of overhanging vegetation between March and October. Frequencies are dependent on the location of the hedge.
