The key aspect of successful delivery was the integration, programming and management of multiple contractors, at the busiest point seeing in excess of 30 operatives on site at one time.
During preparation for the removal of existing roof, our team identified asbestos, requiring the implementation of an approved methodology using competent/qualified personnel.
Ineffective drainage installed as part of the construction of a neighbouring car park above the building had resulted in extensive water penetration and internal flooding, for which we provided short and long term solution proposals. We carried our proprietary work to divert the water away from the internal structure, as a course of temporary measures.
Once removal of the existing roof was completed, several days of unseasonal rain occurred causing flooding into the skate plaza. This required remedial action to prevent water penetration into the front area of main skateboard park and the reception & cafeteria area was under construction. We provided measures to divert the rainwater, including preventing penetration into the floor structure and newly constructed apparatus.
