The long-term project aimed to recreate a country park to welcome a new housing estate. Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon wanted to introduce sports facilities, play areas and 30+ hectares of parkland to the development.
idverde was chosen to support the venture having proven experience in providing multi-service projects of this size. Using their expertise and knowledge of delivering similar schemes, they were able to offer cost savings by value engineering the scope of works. idverde was heavily involved in the design and planning process, providing technical support throughout the project, ensuring both the quality of the end product and financial viability.

The site contributed to the Borough of Bedford Green Space Strategy; the council’s vision for all public open spaces to provide environmental, economic and community benefits to its residents.
idverde delivered the ecological initiatives of the project by preserving plant diversity and habitat. Play areas were installed to reflect the natural landscape of the surrounding parkland by using materials such as robinia wood.
