idverde provides a wide range of green services, including grounds maintenance, landscape creation, and advice services, to both private and public sectors across the UK.
idverde was invited to tender for the landscaping and play area at Taylor Wimpey’s Linton Fuels site in Wandsworth and was awarded a combined landscaping and play area creation contract worth £239,134
Situated in close proximity to the River Thames, Linton Fuels is a mixed-use redevelopment to provide 109 residential apartments, flexible commercial space and enhanced public realm. Comprising of two towers ranging in height between ten and 14 storeys, the development is linked by a landscaped multifunctional podium at the second level where idverde works were to take place. On the eastern elevation, a deck fountain with integral seating provides a focal feature. Once completed, the floor area for this project will cover 925.7 square metres, while the entire site area will cover 3,700 square metres and the development includes 22 one-bed houses, 77 two-bed houses, and 10 three-bed houses.
idverde’s play division and our South Eastern landscaping division worked together to install the landscaping, followed by the installation of the play equipment and safety surfacing.
Due to landscaping being the last trade on site, timing and logistics are important. For this project we had planned to utilise Taylor Wimpey’s crane to move materials, but due to the client’s build programme the crane was removed prior to our works starting. We therefore had to find an alternative method of moving the play equipment into place. To overcome this we worked with Taylor Wimpey to develop solutions, and undertook additional manual handling risk assessments. Taylor Wimpey also had labour to fit the requirements, which enabled us to continue and successfully deliver the project.
