Training Colleagues in Nature-Friendly Green Space Management
28 idverde colleagues from the Midlands region attended a training course on ‘managing for nature in parks and green spaces’ in November 2019.
More projects for Various clientsTaught by John Day, Urban Biodiversity Advisor at the RSPB, the workshop equipped attendees with the skills and knowledge to help nature thrive in their day-to-day roles.
The training content was created specifically for idverde and designed to the specific needs and responsibilities of managers and supervisors.
After covering why biodiversity matters and legal responsibilities, John shared examples of best practice and explained wildlife-friendly management principles. The group was then taught how to apply those principles to specific sites and how to cater to the needs of particular species. To further embed this learning, and help attendees understand how it applies on the ground, the day ended in an interactive outdoor session at a local park.

This training was offered to idverde staff as part of the RSPB – idverde partnership. The RSPB – idverde partnership launched in 2017, and sees two RSPB employees embedded within idverde teams in Bromley and the Midlands, to support and advise on wildlife-friendly green space management.
