Gritting during the coldest times of the year is vitally important in the quest to keep the country moving. Our winter maintenance services enable customers to vastly increase road safety in icy conditions.
Our dedicated gritting service, Ice Watch, keeps access roads, footpaths and car parks safe and passable during winter to keep our clients’ premises open and safe for their employees, customers and members of the public, no matter what the weather.
Ice Watch offer a winter gritting, snow ploughing and snow clearance service tailored to your specific site needs. We work with clients from all sectors, including schools, university campuses, hospitals, retail parks, industrial estates, commercial premises, social housing, car parks and roads.

At idverde, we provide a bespoke winter maintenance service dependent on your needs. Our teams will carry out a full site visit winter proactive service, preventative solution and full risk management to review your requirements and prepare service provisions to meet varying budget requirements.

Keeping you updated
Met Office System
We receive daily reports from the Met Office to ensure accurate monitoring of national weather conditions, which allows us to proactively plan and implement gritting or ploughing services.
Control and Reporting:
You will receive daily reports, with notifications of when we will visit sites to undertake gritting operations and confirmation that the sites have been visited and works completed. Our systems allow us to customise reports specifically to meet your requirements.
Specialist Ice Melt Treatment
Our revolutionary new treatment, is currently only used on a handful of idverde sites. After our Meteorologists at Ice Watch, provide a detailed road weather forecast, our specialist teams analyse any potential drop in temperature. If the temperature drops below 1°C at ground level, a liquid de-icer is used to carry out the ice melt treatment. The de-icer is applied to roads and pathways using bespoke quadbike mounted sprayers which prevents the ice from forming on the cold surface and keeps the area safe for vehicles and pedestrians.

Technology
idverde controls all site requirements through the use of customised technology that was specifically created to support our Winter Maintenance Services. Each vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking, showing locations, times and grit rates for each vehicle. Bespoke co-ordination systems have been designed to handle each element of a winter maintenance service. Detailed, online records are provided to our customers within hours of a completed application, which is an integral part of managing risk and mitigating any claims.
